Antifreeze additive for mortars, enabling masonry work at temperatures down to −15 °C using the “thermos” method. It increases the “workable life” of fresh mortar mixtures, ensures further strength development, and allows the mortar to reach its designed strength grade.
Purpose:
Used for preparing mortar mixes as a plasticizer with antifreeze effect down to −10 °C, and down to −15 °C when applying the “thermos” method.
Usage:
Add to the mortar mix together with mixing water. Stir thoroughly before use. The amount of additive is calculated according to the dosage. Subsequent masonry or use of mortars is carried out following standard technological procedures.
Dosage:
The additive should be dosed for cement systems, concretes, and mortars in the form of a ready-to-use aqueous concentrate in the container in which it is sold, in the following quantities:
- For precast reinforced concrete: from 0.7 % by weight of binder.
- For conventional ready-mix concrete in the cold season (+10 °C and below) with subsequent curing: from 1 % by weight of binder.
- For direct freezing of concrete down to −10 °C: from 2 % by weight of binder.
Optimal dosage should be determined in the laboratory for each specific technological case.
Recommendations:
The dosing container must be clean and have a precisely fixed volume.
Safety rules:
Avoid contact of the additive with the mouth or food products. In case of contact with eyes or skin, rinse thoroughly with water.
